How Disability Can Prove a Hindrance in Your Career

Disability can become one of the major hindrances in the path of a rising career. People with disabilities find it very difficult in accessing many opportunities in comparison with normal people. There are many challenges which have to be faced by them.
Disability is generally defined as the inability to do some work. It is sometimes treated worse than racism. A disabled person is not allowed to work and even denied many services like admission in some schools, recruitment in some reputed organizations, etc. Though the government is taking several steps in providing a means to support the disabled person and allowing them to get admission into college, they are treated as a curse to the society. Disability can be of several types. A physically disabled person is one who incurs some physical deformities. It can be either loss of limbs or eyes or even the ears. The person with this kind of problem is not able to get to work in regular fields.
People with the loss of limbs are not fit for certain jobs which require the physical movement of those limbs. They are usually barred from marketing jobs, which requires movement from one place to another place. People who are blind are not able to work as a clerk or cashier. However, there are many jobs which can be done by these physically challenged people. One job includes being a clerk in which the person with no legs is suited. A person who is blind can pursue as a professor or tutor with extra bit of knowledge. A deaf person can work as a designer or kitchen helper or may even go for careers related to the agriculture department.
There is little hope for the person with mental disabilities. These are the people who do not have control of their mind and as such are not able to coordinate at a work place. There are different non governmental organizations which work for these kind of people and try to make them capable of working in some special post like washing, cleaning etc. These jobs require the least amount of mental work. Treatments are also available for these kinds of people.
A person with a disability that causes them to not be able to read and write can surely go for the job of a sweeper and cleaner. They can also get to work in some factories where more physical labor is required than mental. People who have lost their limbs or some physical part during their work can go for a disabilities plan so as to make them able to get some amount to live happily. The major challenge which a disabled person faces is to overcome their own self-esteem. This lack of self-esteem is a big hindrance to them in facing worldly challenges.
The Federal Government has formulated many laws in order to make the person with disability to get his rights. These laws have surely empowered a disabled person to overcome the barrier and face the world with full confidence. Many colleges and companies have also allowed a quota system for physically challenged persons; this has helped many dreams to be fulfilled.
