disabilities from the abusive acts or omissions of their caregivers through
investigation, oversight, public awareness and prevention. The DPPC’s Sexual
Assault Response Unit (SARU) furthers that mission by helping to ensure
that sexual assault survivors with disabilities access multi-disciplinary
trauma services throughout the Commonwealth. Regional Navigators inform
sexual abuse survivors with disabilities of trauma service options as well as
assist them to access such chosen trauma services. Trauma services include but
are not limited to: Massachusetts Victim Compensation, services within the
Department of Developmental Services, DPH-funded Rape Crisis Centers, DPH
Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner services, SARU peer support, MASS Health
behavioral health supports, civil and criminal legal assistance and other
services to meet the needs of victims with disabilities. Regional
Navigators are responsible for developing professional relationships with all
the above service providers and closely coordinating with DPPC’s internal Intake,
Investigative, Oversight and Legal Staff. Regional Navigators also engage in 30-50
Outreach and Education events annually within their region. Finally, this
position includes administrative coordination tasks such as case review and

degree in social work, criminal justice, psychology, or related field, plus at
least three years of work experience in a relevant field, including but not
limited to: Trauma
work with vulnerable populations Experience
working with persons with disabilities
Access to a vehicle and a MA
Driver’s License for regional travel.
','!*!MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have at least (A) four (4) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, professional internship, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in: business administration, business management, public administration, public management, clinical administration or clinical management or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below.
I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
II. An Associate’s degree in a related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
III. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience.
IV. A Graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for three (3) years of the required experience.
V. A Doctorate degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience.
