The Mathematics Department in the Public Service, Arts & Sciences Division at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. invites applications for Instructor/Assistant Professor of Mathematics positions.
The Department of Mathematics at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. averages more than 2,300 students per semester and currently employs 16 full-time and 12 part-time mathematics and statistics faculty. We offer a wide range of mathematics and statistics courses in order to support the needs of a variety of programs throughout the college: Quantitative Reasoning, Probability and Statistics, Advanced Statistics, Math for Elementary Education, College Algebra, College Trigonometry, Business Calculus I and II, Analytic Geometry, Calculus I, II, and III, and Differential Equations.
The mission of the Department is to prepare virtually every degree-seeking student at the college to use math effectively in their chosen field or to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. Math courses are offered in both traditional and online formats.
Duties may include any or all of the following:
*Teach assigned Mathematics courses
*Prepare lectures, syllabi, and assessments
*Use Blackboard to post syllabi, policy statements, grades, and other information
*Perform weekly Math Center tutoring service
*Establish environment suitable to learning
*Assess and grade student work
*Maintain accurate attendance and grade records
*Maintain regularly scheduled office hours
*Develop and implement new classroom strategies and courses
*Serve as a student adviser, assisting students with academic progress and course scheduling
*Maintain competence through continuous professional development
*Perform other duties as assigned, including service on divisional and college-wide committees

Average salary for Mathematics is $63,378 (12 mo) / $47,534 (9 mo)
Master's degree in Mathematics; or a Master's degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Mathematics.
