Pacific Investment Management Company LLC (PIMCO) seeks a Senior Developer for its New York, NY location.
Duties: Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of software application designs. Use knowledge of Python, including experience with Oracle, SQL, MSSQL, NoSQL, and Object databases, distributed computing, and real-time messaging (AMPS, IBM MQ), in order to design, develop and enhance internal systems for trading and post-trade processing frameworks. Develop code and create class and interface design, write unit testing code, contribute reusable code, tools, and libraries in Python, C#, and C . Utilize knowledge of financial domain (products, services) to confer with end business-users, including portfolio managers and quantitative analysts, systems analysts, and engineers to investigate and analyze business requirements. Define technical application requirements, create and demonstrate prototypes, and provide time and cost estimates. Collaborate with Technology Services team to design and develop Cloud-based services accessible by Portfolio Manages using Cisco Cloud Manager. Provide implementation support and maintenance for PIMCO s global Python-based platform. Work with broader Technology Department to promote Python, design and perform feasibility studies for other teams, and perform code review. Work with Quantitative Analysts to provide applications development support. Promote and implement new research-platforms based on Python and Direct Noncyclical Graph object model in production environment. Use knowledge of Athena/Quartz to migrate existing code to the new graph-bases (Beacon) platform. Develop user interface using WPF, WCF, ASP.NET, Javascript, HTML, Web Services, WinForms/Excel integration, XML, and SQL. Support and maintain PIMCO micro-service platform utilizing NGINX webserver and uWSGI service hosting platform.
Must have a Master s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Applications, or closely related field, and 5 years of experience in job offered or closely related job in the financial services industry. Employer will also accept Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, or closely related field, and 7 years of post-baccalaureate progressive experience in job offered or closely related job in the financial services industry. Position requires 5 years of experience in each of the following areas/skills: financial domain (products, services); Oracle, SQL, NoSQL, and Object databases; Python, C#, and C ; and WPF, WCF, ASP.NET, Javascript, HTML, Web Services. Background check and drug screening required prior to employment.
