Reporting to the Senior C.L.S./Supervisor, this position assists in the operation of the Laboratory by performing specialized tasks involving medical laboratory testing. Performs and reports results of tests and assumes responsibility for accuracy. Assists in training and orientation of new technologists. Directs work of laboratory assistants and auxiliary personnel. Maintains working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures. Understands and complies with all quality control policies. ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS Knowledge of all areas in the laboratory demonstrated through interview process.
Knowledge of laboratory computer system preferred.
Able to successfully complete a test for color blindness.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences preferred.
REQUIRED LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONS
Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License required.
